Yakisugi Sauna Aspen

Common aspen is particularly suitable for a sauna with its aesthetic appearance, as it does not emit resin, produces ethereal vapors and does not get hot. Aspen/alder has a characteristic light tone and, thanks to its even texture, is ideal for processing with various surface treatment agents. The advantage of the Yakisugi treatment is its environmental friendliness: the wood is processed only with a strong flame and bristles. During the treatment, the density of the wood decreases and its structure changes, which reduces the moisture absorption and moisture release of the aspen. The treatment also improves the properties of the wood: it increases resistance to fungal damage. Yakisugi-treated wood is much more fireproof than regular wood, and the wood's thermal and sound insulation is also improved. Yakisugi treatment also gives an excellent visual effect: during heating, the aspen acquires a beautiful brown tone and the wood grain becomes visible. *Production time approx. 4 weeks depending on the quantity.
