Yakisugi sauna aspen

Common aspen with its aesthetic appearance, is particularly suitable for saunas, as it does not produce resin, emit ethereal vapours, and does not get hot. Aspen/alder has a characteristic light tone and, thanks to its even texture, it is ideal for processing with various surface treatment tools. The advantage of Yakisugi processing is its environmental friendliness: the wood is processed only with a high strong flame and brushes. During processing, the density of the wood decreases and its structure changes, due to which the moisture absorption and moisture release of aspen decreases. The treatment also improves the properties of wood: greater resistance to fungal damage. Yakisugi treated wood is much more resistant to fire than ordinary wood, and the heat and sound insulation of the wood is also improved. Yakisugi processing also gives a great visual effect: during heating, the aspen acquires a beautiful brown shade. *Production time approx. 4 weeks depending on the quantity.
